For my original idea for my images front cover i wanted to place a drum kit in the catheral green in Exeter haveing exeters scenery behind the drummer. due to the weather I have had to change my idea about this picture. this means i now have to try and represent a urban area inside. unless the weather britens up next weekend i will have to resort to another idea.

 1 of my new idea is to get a image of an urban area and photo shop the drummer into it.

the second of my ideas is to move the original plan to a new place outside but undercover so for example a multi story car park.

Risk	Prevention
Having an accident whilst driving to Exeter.	Driving carefully and being fully aware.
Getting hit by a car whilst we are in the car park or crossing roads.	By being observant and watching for cars pulling out of parking spaces, and making sure we look both ways before crossing the road, if there is any traffic wait for it to pass.
Slipping over if it is wet/raining.	By being safe and wearing appropriate foot ware.
Knocking over equipment.	Make sure you know where your equipment is and be observant.
Damage to equipment and modelling equipment	As the picture is being taken outside make sure the area where the modelling equipment is placed is clean and dry. This also goes for cameras and so on.
The flash could accidently be on and hurt the models eyes.	Make sure that the flash is off and camera is in the right settings before you take the first picture.
There could be people in the area where we want to place the equipment for the picture.	By asking the people nicely they may move or find another spot where you can get a similar picture.
Moving the equipment in and out of the area people could bump in to the equipment.	By making sure that there is someone just warning people that there is equipment coming through. Also by watching and being observant.

Choosing the right colour 

Colour increases brand recognition by up to 80%.

Colour ads are read up to 42% more than similar ads in black and white.

Colour can be up to 85% of the people decision to by the magazine.

Due to these figures i can tell that colour scheme is a very key thing when it comes down to my music magazine. this means that when i choose the colours for my magazine, i may want to produce a survey to see what people think of my colour scheme. this is because if my customers do not like the colour scheme they may not recognize my magazine or not want to buy it in the first place.

my audience for my magazine is drummers as it is going to be a drumming magazine.
this means that it can be related to any age and it dosent have a selected age audience because all different years through drumming are covered. i have no specific genre inside of drumming like most other drumming magazines. this means i haven't got a specific audience except for drummers.

initial research into drumming magazines

what i like on this issue of RHYTHM magazines front cover is: how they have based a large amount of the front cover on one drummer in particular. this is because he is arguably one of the best drummers around today.
you are also given a free bie to draw your attention to the magazine and make you want to buy it even more. they also have a puff this is to draw your attention to the magazine in this case it is to win a drum Tech scholarship worth 5,295 pounds.
i also like they way that they are able to cover some of the masthead because it is a so well known magazine.
I also like how the tagline of the magazine is so big this is to draw your attention and as a common reader of drumming magazines you are able to tell what the masthead is before you even see it.

the things that i dislike about this magazine are how there is so much writing down in the right hand cover and as it is all white it makes you think that it is all the same story.
i am not fond of the 2 colour colour scheme whit and red i think that it isn't enough of different colours and its not so eye catching.

My chosen Genre is Drumming there are many differnt forms of drumming from african to modern rock, i have chosen this genre as i my self am a drummer and have been for many years now. When you say, “would you like to listen to some music?” to an entire group of people, they all expect something different. You turn on the stereo and some people will smile, some will frown and some might even leave. Different music, different people. If you stop to listen to music other than what you normally do, you might notice something else: there are countless drumming styles as well. From the thumping bass and rapid-fire snare of a rock tune to the wicked licks of a Latin dance groove, every type of music has its own drumming style to set its rhythm. Different drumming styles can be found within the same genres though, as each drummer adds their own special kick to every lick they play- even for the same songs. You can give the same assigned piece to two drummers of comparable skill level and watch the slight variations that come out. Some drummers play each note straight and clean, some like to add a little extra here and there and some will go for broke in the flash department. As long as the song is played well and they right rhythm is kept, what is the harm? Music and songs that rely heavily on drummers and their drumming styles can make up for a lack of style and substance in other areas by letting the drummer find his own “voice” but too much of that can make the deficiencies painfully obvious. Any song (with some very major exceptions) this is drum-heavy probably is failing in the other aspects and the group and ultimately the listener knows it. Some drumming styles make use of the lighter sounding drums and percussion instruments like the snare drum and the cymbals. Some make use of more heavy sounding drums like the bass and the tom-tom. Latin beats are generally used for certain dances, and may use a little mix of drums and other percussion and set the rhythm and flavor for the dancers to follow. Remember, it is generally the drummer that gives the dancers the beat to follow during their steps in the first place. Finally, remember different drumming styles may mean that you hold your drumsticks a little differently than others, or that you use brushes on your snares instead of sticks. Although at first this may sound like a bad thing, it's really not. The beauty is that not we can step outside our own culture and find different styles of drumming. Although when we think of drumming we automatically think of the generic drumming we heard from most bands on the mainstream radio stations drumming ranges far beyond what we hear in these places. Often some styles of drumming are automatically definable, and even when these styles of drumming aren't definable we can still identify them as being foreign, or outside our culture. Samba music is based around drumming, where different drummers drumming in synchronisation all parade through carnivals in Brazilian festivals, the sounds range from drums as big as huge containers to simple hand percussion, this style of drumming is very rhythmic, there is often no melody or little melody, there is often no harmony and the drums are the main focus of the song, which I think is amazing. The style of drumming is interesting because it is so different to the way we work with drumming styles in the UK. UK drumming styles are often not the focus to the song but help to song to keep a static beat or tempo. Learning from different cultures like this, about different drumming styles can help us to look at our own drumming styles from a different perspective and also give us the ability to appreciate other styles of drumming. Drumming styles from across the globe can help to progress musically in our culture, giving us the chance to become more diverse and free, which means we will be less stuck in our own narrow minded ways which stop us from moving forward, may the future for music be free and open.
